Athens-Limestone Hospital
Athens-Limestone Hospital is a community owned, Not-for-Profit 101 bed acute care state of the art high-tech hospital located in the City of Athens in Limestone County. Opening in May 1951, Athens-Limestone is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and is also a member of Voluntary Hospitals of America, the largest network of not-for-profit hospitals in the United States. The hospital’s mission is “to provide integrated access to quality health and wellness services in Limestone County and surrounding areas.”

Medical Staff are available to provide the following specialty care: Anesthesiology, Cardiology, Critical Care, Dermatology, Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, General Surgery, Internal Medicine Obstetrics & Gynecology, Occupational, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Otolaryngology, Pathology, Pediatrics, Podiatry, Pulmonology/Sleep Disorders, Radiology, Sports Medicine, Urology and Women’s Health/Gynecology.
- Expansion Plans. Athens-Limestone Hospital has recently expanded into the East Limestone area with the addition of two family practice physicians and a pulmonologist. Also, a Wellness Center and Diagnostic Center has recently opened to include Wellness Membership, Outpatient Physical Therapy, General X-Ray, General Laboratory and Mammography. Plans are to further develop and expand into the growing East Limestone area, a very important sector in the Athens-Limestone Hospital market.
