| Marshall Medical Center North is a 90-bed acute care facility located between Guntersville and Arab. Built in 1990, the facility is accredited by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
Offering the most modern equipment and medical procedures available, MMC-North features all private rooms, a recently renovated and expanded 15-bed Emergency Department, an eight-bed Intensive Care Unit, a recently renovated and expanded Obstetrical Unit, a 20-room Day Surgery Department, four operating suites with additional endoscopy labs, a comprehensive diagnostic imaging department, and a 22,000-square-foot outpatient rehabilitation and fitness center featuring a 75-foot lap pool.
The medical staff of MMC-North consists of nearly 50 active staff physicians and a host of courtesy and consulting staff. Specialists range from family and internal medicine to general surgeons, neurologists, gastroenterologists, plastic & reconstructive surgeons and more. Many of these specialists have offices right here on the MMC-North campus.
MMC-North is a certified Trauma II Emergency Department that is serviced by four emergency helicopter transports.

| Guntersville is located just 3 traffic lights from Gate 2 of Redstone Arsenal!
Depending on the area of Guntersville that you live in, your drive will be less than 45 minutes (one-way) to Redstone Arsenal. Guntersville is located at the southernmost point of the Tennessee River, situated 2 1⁄2 hours west of Atlanta, 2 1⁄2 hours south of Nashville, 1 1⁄2 hours northeast of Birmingham, and 30 minutes south of Huntsville.
Highway 431 is the major artery through Guntersville. Interstate 59 is 26 miles south and Interstate 65 is 40 miles west. Those in need of air transportation generally use Huntsville International Airport (45 miles) or Birmingham International Airport (70 miles), both offer several major carriers. Guntersville Municipal Airport is located northeast of the city on Highway 431 north. The City of Guntersville provides public transportation within the Guntersville area through the Guntersville Metro Transportation program.

| Guntersville provides its citizens with a low crime rate and excellent fire protection. The Guntersville Police Department is made up of 30 certified police officers along with 10 non-certified civilian support personnel. The Guntersville Police Department has been entrusted with the duty and responsibility to preserve, protect and defend the citizens, property and to maintain order. The City of Guntersville Fire Department employs twenty-two personnel who are trained fire fighters. Six of these fire fighters are certified paramedics, six are intermediate emergency medical technicians and five have basic emergency medical certificates. The Fire Department is equipped with two rescue trucks, three pumper trucks, one ladder truck, and one rescue boat.
The Emergency Room at Marshall Medical Center North, located between Guntersville and Arab, is opened 24-hours a day, seven days a week. Marshall Medical Center North is a certified Trauma II Emergency Department that is serviced by four emergency helicopter transports.

| Guntersville wants to meet the needs of all our citizens and the city makes every effort to accommodate everyone. The Guntersville area offers several options for those needing assisted living, nursing homes, and mental health facilities.
Mountain Lakes Behavioral Healthcare offers special programs on mental health, alcohol and drugs, and offers educational presentations for individuals and groups. With a staff of psychiatrists, psychologists, special educators, social workers and mental health technicians, the center provides comprehensive treatment for alcoholism and drug abuse.
Hospice of Marshall County is a home-based program for persons with a life expectancy of six months or less and their families. Hospice assists in the management of symptoms in patients’ homes so that hospitalizations can be avoided.
