Hartselle city schools can be summed up in one word “excellence”. Hartselle students consistently rank high in statewide achievement testing and perform above the state and national average in all areas of the Stanford Achievement Test. One-half of all Hartselle graduates annually score above the national average on the ACT. Students have captured numerous first place awards in state and national competitions, and many have been named National Merit Finalists. Our athletic programs are recognized statewide with 20 state championships in varied sports in the past 21 years.
Hartselle is home to one K-12 private school, and a number of pre-school daycare facilities. Hartselle is centrally located near several quality, accredited colleges, offering various two and four year degree programs.

| Hartselle is home to a satellite office of the Morgan County Courthouse. Drivers license, automobile tags and registrations can be purchased here. Marriage licenses and drivers tests are administered at the Morgan County courthouse in Decatur, only 20 minutes north on U.S. Highway 31.
